We are committed to listening to the views of our children and their families.
We have a keen and enthusiastic School Council which is run by the children, for the children. The Council run a variety of projects during the year and are actively involved in making decisions. Our school council meets regularly. Two children from each class represent their own class on the school council. The children are elected to the school council by their peers. The council will then meet to elect officers such as: Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. They take whole school issues and ideas from their own class councils and feed them into the school council. Sometimes we have smaller groups working on specific projects. They also share ideas and decisions from school council with their class. Decisions made within school council can, and do, have a real impact on the rest of the school.
Children at Owler Brook take on many responsibilities which include delivering the registers and looking after the garden and allotment areas and leading play activities at lunchtime for younger children. Our active Go Green Team meet each week. They encourage us to save energy, reduce, reuse and recycle. They deliver assemblies and give presentations to our parents.
